    Alfuzosin Alfuzosin is used to treat the symptoms of benign prostate hyperplasia (enlarged prostate gland) and voiding difficulties. Dutasteride Dutasteride is used to treat the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate).It helps to reduce the risk of urinary blockage.

    Mode of drug action


    Alfuzosin Alfuzosin is an alpha-adrenergic blocking agent. It acts by inhibiting adrenoreceptors which lead to relaxation of smooth muscle in the bladder that relieves symptoms of benign prostate hyperplasia and facilitates urine flow. Dutasteride Dutasteride belongs to the class of drugs known as 5-alpha reductase inhibitors. It works by blocking the production of dihydrotestosterone that enlarges the prostate.

    What are the common side effects?

    Alfuzosin The common side effects of alfuzosin are constipation, sexual dysfunction, dizziness, fatigue, headache, heartburn, nasal congestion, sore throat, chills, fever, abdominal pain, and nausea. Dutasteride The common side effects of dutasteride are nipple discharge, breast lump, difficulty in swallowing shortness of breath, skin peeling, facial swelling, throat swelling, ejaculation disorder, and decreased libido.

    Special precautions for safe use

    • Patients suffering from moderate to severe liver diseases should not take Alfugress D tablet.

    • The concomitant use of Alfugress D drug with alpha blockers, antifungal, and HIV drugs is not recommended.

    • Do not consume alcohol while taking Alfugress D medicine, as it increases the risks of Alfugress D side effects.

    • Alfugress D drug may cause dizziness and lightheadedness, so avoid performing heavy tasks that need mental alertness.

    • Do not use Alfugress D tablet in the conditions such as low blood levels, kidney problems, cancers, and other prostate gland problems.

    1. I am scheduled for cataract surgery. Can I use alfuzosin drug? No, do not use alfuzosin drug if there is any surgery scheduled.
