    Uses :

    Cinitapride Cinitapride is used in the treatment of functional dyspepsia, difficulty in swallowing, inflammation of esophagus and excess acid secretion by stomach. Omeprazole Omeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor used to reduce the amount of acid produced in the stomach. It is indicated for healing or prevention of erosive esophagitis, gastric or duodenal ulcers, Helicobacter pylori infection, and gastro-esophageal reflux disease. Pantoprazole uses include reducing the production of stomach acid, stopping the back flow of stomach acid, and relieving heartburn symptoms. Apart from acid relief, pantoprazole drug prevents peptic ulcer that may occur as a side effect in the patients taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

    Mode of drug action

    Cinitapride Cinitapride stimulates the release of a chemical substance called acetylcholine which is involved in increasing the motility of intestine. Omeprazole stops the production of stomach acid by inhibiting the action of proton pumps. Proton pumps are the ion channels, found on the cells lining the stomach, produces stomach acid. Sometimes, the excess acid produced in the stomach can flow back into the esophagus causing pain and burning sensation (heartburn).

    What are the common side effects?

    Cinitapride The side effects which are common with cinitapride are nausea, diarrhea and headache. Omeprazole The omeprazole side effects include excessive tiredness, high body temperature, headache, joint pain, dry mouth, dizziness, rashes or itching, abdominal pain, constipation or diarrhea, and bloating.

    Special precautions for safe use

    • Avoid using Burpex medicine, if allergic to any of the ingredients in it.

    • Burpex medicine is recommended 15 min before meals.

    • Avoid drinking alcohol when using Burpex medicine.

    • Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated when using Burpex medicine.

    • Do not use Burpex medicine for a long period to avoid side effects.

    • Use Burpex medicine only under doctor’s prescription.

    • Discontinue Burpex medicine and immediately consult the doctor if any unusual symptoms are developed.

    • Take medical consultation before using Burpex medicine during pregnancy and breast feeding.

    1. What is the dose of cinitapride for adults? The usual adult dose of cinitapride is about 1 mg to be taken three times in a day.

    2. How to take the cinitapride? Take the cinitapride 15 minutes before food to increase the absorption of the drug.

    3. Can I drive after taking the cinitapride? No. Do not drive after taking the cinitapride due to the risk of side effects such as drowsiness.

    4. How to store the cinitapride? Store the tablets in a dry and cool place, away from reach of children.

    5. What to do in case of an overdose with cinitapride? Immediately call up for medical help in case of an overdose with cinitapride. Omeprazole

    1. What should I do if I miss a dose? If you forget to take the medication at the usual time, you must take it as soon as you remember. If it is time for the next dose, you must skip the missed dose.

    2. Are there any storage precautions for omeprazole? Store the medication at room temperature (25°C) and away from direct heat. Keep the drug out of reach of children.

    3. What long-term effects I might experience with omeprazole? Use of omeprazole for more than one year may increase your risk of bone fractures and vitamin B12 deficiency.
