    Uses :

    Amlodipine Amlodipine is used in the treatment of hypertension, chest pain (i.e. angina) and other conditions in which the artery of the heart gets narrowed. It is also used for the prevention of heart disorders. Lisinopril Lisinopril is used to treat high blood pressure in adults and children. It is also used to treat congestive heart failure in adults. Lisinopril improves the survival rate after heart attack. Additionally, lisinopril is used to treat heart failure and diabetic kidney disease.

    Mode of drug action


    Amlodipine Amlodipine belongs to a class of drugs called the calcium channel blockers. The mechanism of action of amlodipine is dilation of the blood vessels, and thereby, improving the blood flow through them. Lisinopril Lisinopril belongs to an angiotensin-converting-enzyme inhibitor. Angiotensin-converting enzyme is a peptidyl dipeptidase that facilitates to convert angiotensin I to angiotensin II. Angiotensin II is a vasoconstrictor substance that restricts the flow of blood. Lisinopril inhibits the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II thereby relaxing the heart muscle to facilitate easy flow of blood.

    Amlodipine The side effects of amlodipine include dizziness, tiredness, flushing, stomach pain, and nausea. Lisinopril The common side effects of lisinopril are hypotension, hormone imbalance, allergic reaction, slow growth in children, cough, diarrhea, dizziness, headache, heartburn, lightheadedness, and muscle cramp.
