    Uses :

    Ramipril Ramipril is used to treat several heart conditions such as high blood pressure, heart failure, and to increase the chances of survival of heart attack patients. It also reduces the risk of getting heart diseases. Hydrochlorothiazide Hydrochlorothiazide is used to treat hypertension. It is also used in the treatment of fluid retention in congestive heart failure or liver cirrhosis. Hydrochlorothiazide is used as a diuretic to removes excess salts from the body.

    Mode of drug action

    Ramipril Ramipril is an ACE (angiotensin converting enzyme) inhibitor. It prevents the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, a compound which causes constriction of blood vessels. Thereby, ramipril relieves the high blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide Hydrochlorothiazide acts by eliminating excess salts from the body by inhibiting sodium reuptake in the body. Hydrochlorothiazide blocks sodium-chloride symporter, it reduces osmotic gradient and water reabsorption throughout the body.

    Ramipril Ramipril side effects are low blood pressure, dizziness, moderate to extreme tiredness, and cough.
