    Elemental calcium Elemental Calcium is used to treat low blood calcium levels in the body. It is also used to treat the conditions such as bone loss in osteoporosis, weak bones, hypoparathyroidism, and rickets. Vitamin D3 Vitamin D3 (also called calcitriol) is used to treat hyperparathyroidism (increased production of the hormones). In patients with chronic kidney failure, calcitriol helps to treat metabolic bone disease and calcium deficiency. It is given during the treatment of rickets disease in children (a bone deformation disorder) which occurs due to vitamin D deficiency.

    Elemental calcium Elemental Calcium orotate plays a vital role in the body. It supports normal functioning of nerves, cells, bone, and muscles. It provides sufficient calcium useful for the body, as the body takes calcium from bones if enough calcium is not present in the blood. Calcium orotate treats the conditions and makes calcium available for utilization. Vitamin D3 Vitamin D3 is a steroid hormone which binds to the vitamin D receptors and helps in the absorption of calcium.

    What are the common side effects?

    Elemental calcium The common side effects of Elemental Calcium orotate are constipation, upset stomach, nausea, weight loss, mental and mood changes. Vitamin D3 The common side effects of calcitriol are fatigue, weakness, sleepiness, headache, dry mouth, metallic taste, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, etc. However, these side effects do not occur at the normal doses and are seen in only a few patients.

    3. I am diagnosed to have high phosphate levels in the blood. Can I take Elemental calcium? No, patients with high phosphate levels are not prescribed Elemental calcium.
