    Amiodarone hydrochloride is used to treat rhythm disorders usually when other medicines do not work or cannot be used. It is also used in the treatment of irregular heartbeats in various heart diseases such as Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome, paroxysmal tachycardia, and atrial flutter or atrial fibrillation

    Amiodarone hydrochloride belongs to a class of drugs called antiarrhythmics. It works by blocking certain electrical signals which cause irregular heartbeats and thus relaxes the overactive heart muscles.

    The most common side effects of amiodarone hydrochloride include abnormal taste, altered sense of smell, allergic skin rash, abnormal liver function, constipation, headache, insomnia, loss of appetite, nausea, tiredness, and vomiting.
