    Uses :

    Dorzolamide is used to treat elevated intraocular pressure in the patients with ocular hypertension, open-angle glaucoma, or pseudo-exfoliative glaucoma. Dorzolamide is often used as an adjuvant therapy to beta-blockers or as a monotherapy in those who are not responsive to beta-blockers.

    Mode of drug action

    Dorzolamide belongs to a class of drugs known as carbonic anhydrase inhibitors. It acts by inhibiting the enzyme carbonic anhydrase thereby reducing the fluid pressure in the eye.

    What are the common side effects?

    Dorzolamide side effects include nausea, bitter taste, burning sensation in eye, tingling sensation in eye, conjunctivitis, eyelid irritation, eyelid swelling, fatigue, headache, blurred vision, and sore eye.
