    Mode of drug action


    Eplerenone acts by inhibiting the action of aldosterone, a chemical molecule involved in increasing the blood pressure by compressing the blood vessels. Thus, the drug helps to regulate the blood pressure.

    The common eplerenone side effects are headache, dizziness and high levels of potassium in the blood.

    Special precautions for safe use

    • If a previous hypersensitivity or allergic reaction has been experienced with the use of eplerenone tablets, then do not use them further. There is every possibility to have this reaction again which may be a serious side effect of Eptus.

    • Eptus should not be taken by the patients with severe kidney disease, raised potassium levels in blood or type 2 diabetes with high albumin levels in urine.
