    Uses :

    Indomethacin is used to treat inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, severe osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis or gouty arthritis. It is also used to relieve shoulder pain associated with bursitis or tendinitis.

    Mode of drug action

    Indomethacin acts by lowering the levels of hormones which cause pain and inflammation.

    What are the common side effects?

    The common side effects of indomethacin are a headache, dizziness, sleepiness, tiredness, ringing in the ears, stomach upset and vomiting.

    Special precautions for safe use

    • People who have undergone a bypass surgery of the heart should not take the Indocap SR.

    • Indocap SR can increase the risk of bleeding. So, inform the doctor if any signs of bleeding are observed. This is more common in older adults.

    • People with heart diseases should not take the Indocap SR medicine. This is due to the risk of heart attack or stroke.

    • Do not use the Indocap SR medication if a previous allergic reaction was seen with the use of any other NSAIDs.

    • Do not give the Indocap SR to children below 14 years.
