    Levofloxacin Levofloxacin is a quinolone antibiotic. It is used mainly for prevention and treatment of anthrax or plague. It is used to treat infection caused by Corynebacterium species, Staphylococcus species, Streptococcus, Acinetobacterlwoffii, Haemophilusinfluenzae, and Serratiamarcescens. It is used for treating skin infections, impetigo, urethritis, chlamydia, bacterial sinusitis, conjunctivitis, and tuberculosis. Ambroxol Ambroxol is a mucolytic agent which is used in the treatment of lung diseases such as bronchitis, chronic inflammatory pulmonary conditions, tracheobronchitis, emphysema with bronchitis pneumoconiosis, and bronchiectasis.

    Mode of drug action

    Levofloxacin Levofloxacin is an antibiotic. It kills the bacteria by inhibiting the DNA replication. Ambroxol Ambroxol acts by breaking down the fibers of the mucus, in reducing the viscosity and thinning the sputum. Thus, the sputum can be readily removed through coughing.

    What are the common side effects?

    Levofloxacin The common side effects of levofloxacin are indigestion, fungal infection, breathlessness, taste disturbance, dizziness, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, and insomnia. Ambroxol The common side effects of ambroxol are produced in the stomach and intestine which are mild. They may include constipation, diarrhea, excess salivation, nausea and vomiting.
