    Uses :

    Lisinopril is used to treat high blood pressure in adults and children. It is also used to treat congestive heart failure in adults. Lisinopril improves the survival rate after heart attack. Additionally, lisinopril is used to treat heart failure and diabetic kidney disease.

    Mode of drug action


    Lisinopril belongs to an angiotensin-converting-enzyme inhibitor. Angiotensin-converting enzyme is a peptidyl dipeptidase that facilitates to convert angiotensin I to angiotensin II. Angiotensin II is a vasoconstrictor substance that restricts the flow of blood. Lisinopril inhibits the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II thereby relaxing the heart muscle to facilitate easy flow of blood.

    What are the common side effects?

    The common side effects of lisinopril are hypotension, hormone imbalance, allergic reaction, slow growth in children, cough, diarrhea, dizziness, headache, heartburn, lightheadedness, and muscle cramp.

    Special precautions for safe use

    • Avoid Lipril tablet if any allergic reactions are seen in the past to lisinopril or any of its ingredients.

    4. Is lisinopril safe during pregnancy? No. Lisinopril is unsafe during pregnancy, as it may cause the death of fetus.
