    USES :

    Labetalol tablets are used to treat severe high blood pressure in emergency situations which include pregnancy, during surgery or hypertension episodes following a heart attack.

    How does the drug work?

    Labetalol drug belongs to a group of medication known as beta-blockers. Labetalol acts by relaxing the blood vessels and reduces heart rate thereby improving the blood flow and decreasing the blood pressure.

    What are the common side effect?

    Labetalol side effects include nausea and vomiting, pain, numbness, increased potassium level in blood, heart failure, tachycardia, worsening of heart failure, psoriasis, blurred vision, cramping pain, fatigue, decreased blood pressure, cardiac arrest, depression, dizziness, shortness of breath, asthma, difficulty in urination, fever, headache, impotence, inability to empty the urinary bladder, itching, limb swelling, loss of muscle mass, nose bleed, nose pain, sore throat, rash, weakness, tingling sensation, yellow discoloration of skin and yellow discoloration of eye.

    Important Info Do not take Lobet tablets, in case of allergy to labetalol or other beta-blockers or any of the other ingredients of the tablet. Patients taking other medication for high blood pressure or a heart condition or other beta blockers should consult the doctor before taking Lobet medication. Avoid taking labetalol medicine, in case of pregnancy or breastfeeding. Patients receiving a medical procedure for detection of tumors like MIBG scintigraphy should avoid Lobet medication. If scaly pink patches are noticed on the skin (psoriasis), avoid taking labetalol tablets. Do not drive or operate machines as Lobet may cause dizziness or tiredness.
