    Bisoprolol Bisoprolol is used for the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension), angina pectoris, and chronic heart failure. The bisoprolol drug can be used alone or in combination with other medications. Hydrochlorothiazide Hydrochlorothiazide is a water pill (diuretic medicine) which is used to treat fluid retention associated with conditions such as cirrhosis of the liver, congestive heart failure, or kidney disorders. It is also used in the hypertension treatment.

    Mode of drug action

    Bisoprolol Bisoprolol is a selective beta blocker. It works by blocking the beta receptors present in the heart which leads to a decrease in the heart rate and force of contraction of the heart. Thus, bisoprolol is used as a medication for hypertension by lowering the blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide Hydrochlorothiazide prevents the human body from absorbing excess salt, thus, it prevents the associated fluid retention (edema).
