    Uses :

    Buclizine is the active ingredient of Longifene tablets. Buclizine is an antiemetic medicine used in the prevention of motion sickness in adults. It also helps in the treatment of nausea and vomiting, migraine, and certain skin disorders.

    Mode of drug action

    The possible mechanism by which buclizine performs its action is by inhibiting the chemoreceptor trigger zone of the brain, thus, the drug prevents vomiting. It blocks the nerve pathways which are involved in producing nausea, and migraine. Buclizine also inhibits the histamine receptors, thereby, providing relief from allergic reactions.

    What are the common side effects?

    The common buclizine side effects are dizziness, drowsiness, tiredness, headache, slight weight gain, agitation, intermittent constipation and dryness of the mouth.
