    Ambroxol Ambroxol is a mucolytic agent which is used in the treatment of lung diseases such as bronchitis, chronic inflammatory pulmonary conditions, tracheobronchitis, emphysema with bronchitis pneumoconiosis, and bronchiectasis. Loratadine Loratadine is used to treat runny nose, sneezing, skin rashes, and other cold and allergic symptoms. It also treats hives and itching associated with skin problems.

    Mode of drug action

    Ambroxol Ambroxol acts by breaking down the fibers of the mucus, in reducing the viscosity and thinning the sputum. Thus, the sputum can be readily removed through coughing. Loratadine Loratadine works by blocking a chemical substance called histamine, thus, preventing the allergic responses.

    What are the common side effects?

    Ambroxol The common side effects of ambroxol are produced in the stomach and intestine which are mild. They may include constipation, diarrhea, excess salivation, nausea and vomiting. Loratadine The common side effects of loratadine include headache, dry mouth, nervousness, tiredness, drowsiness, hyperactivity, and stomach pain.

    • Be cautious while using the drug Lorfast-AM in case of severe hepatic or renal impairment.
